2 Paid Summer Internships Available at NALIP!
What: NALIP seeks 2 energetic and reliable Latino/Latina students interested in working at the NALIP office while we coordinate the Latino Producers Academy. The Latino Producers Academy™ is a NALIP Signature program modeled on the Sundance Labs and WGBH Documentary Program. In its Sixth year, NALIP’s LPA selects documentary producer / directors and feature producers with directors and their projects to attend the 10-day intensive program that improves their skills, advances their projects and provides mentors and professional relationships.
Positions include:
- Assistant Coordinator- provides support to NALIP’s Signature Programs Director and Production Manager during pre-production and production of the workshop.
- Membership Office Intern- will assist the membership coordinator with member services, data entry, office management.

Who: Student eligibility for internship positions is limited to currently enrolled undergraduates who reside in and/or attend college in Los Angeles County, will have completed at least one semester of college by June, and will not graduate before December 2008. When: This is a 10 week paid ($3,500) internship for the summer in Santa Monica, California. ***INCLUDING travel to Santa Fe, New Mexico in August for 10 to 15 days.

30th Annual CineFestival Announces Star-Studded Lineup
CineFestival en San Antonio, the nation’s longest running Latino film festival will celebrate its star-studded 30th anniversary from April 10-13 at the historic Guadalupe Theater. The theme for this year’s festival, which includes two Sundance award-winners, two world premieres and more than fifty cutting edge features, shorts and documentaries from around the world, is “Digital Revolutionaries: Celebrating 30 Years of Chicano Film and Video.”
The four-day extravaganza kicks off on Thursday, April 10 with the Texas premiere of the celebrated Sundance award winner Sleep Dealer by founding NALIP member Alex Rivera. The film, which stars Leonor Varela (Voces inocentes), Jacob Vargas (Selena) and Luis Fernando Peña (Amar te duele), is a Sci-Fi mix of El Norte and Blade Runner that portrays a not too distant future where sleep is a commodity few can afford. The film’s director Alex Rivera will be present for the screening at the Guadalupe Theater on April 10th.
This year’s CineFestival is also proud to host the Texas premiere of Searchers 2.0, the new film by Alex Cox (Repo Man, Sid and Nancy). Searchers 2.0, which stars Del Zamora (Repo Man) and Ed Pansullo (Straight to Hell) is a comedic road trip through the Southwest that follows two out of work actors on a quest to Monument Valley to seek revenge on a screenwriter who did them wrong on the set of a Western.

Call for Applications: ABC/ABC Studios Production Associates Program
This is a 12-month paid program, during which individuals from diverse backgrounds are placed in entry-level positions in the production areas of ABC Studios in Burbank, California.
Production Associates will be assigned to five main groups of Primetime Network television production: Production Management, Production Finance, Post-Production Management, Studio Crafts Management, and Business Affairs/Legal Affairs.
Applications will be accepted only between April 1, 2008 and April 16, 2008. Do not submit materials other than those required with the application; no other materials (written or otherwise) will be considered. Interviews will be scheduled for May 15 and May 16, 2008. Job assignments are expected to begin on July 7, 2008.

12th Annual LA Shorts Fest is the largest short film festival in the world. We are accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences. In past years, 29 participants have earned Academy Award nominations. Last year’s award winners received prizes totaling over $100,000.
