MODERATOR'S NOTE: Our group has taken over the line of Italia
Cattolica which had been generating Romero quotes to send to its
members.

Amidst the unpopular news in El Salvador about the dedication of a
plaza in honor of the rightwing leader Roberto D'Aubuisson, it is
fitting to cite from one of the few homilies in which Archbishop
Romero mentioned D'Aubuisson by name, exactly a month before his
assassination by order of the ultra-rightist leader. Citing a report
by the centrist Christian Democratic Party (PDC), Archbishop Romero
had referred to "Major Roberto D'Aubuisson and the band of assassins
commanded by the extreme right" as responsible for the assassination
of Dr. Mario Zamora, a PDC leader.

NOTA DEL MODERADOR: Nuestro grupo ha retomado el hilo de de Italia
Cattolica que había estado generando citas de Romero para enviar a
sus miembros.

En medio de la noticia controvertida de la plaza D'Aubuisson, es
oportuno citar uno de los pocos sermones en que Mons. Romero mencionó
a Roberto D'Aubuisson, precisamente un mes antes de su asesinato,
bajo una órden del lider ultraderechista. Citando un informe del
Partido Demócrata Cristiano, Mons. Romero se había referido al "Mayor
Roberto D'Abuisson y a la banda de asesinos que comanda la extrema
derecha" como responsables por el asesinato del Dr. Mario Zamora.
