MODERATOR'S NOTE: Ever since Valentine's Day, our group has formed a
chain of Archbishop Romero's message of Love with the web site of
Italia Cattolica which has been generating Romero quotes to send to
its members. Last week, Italia Cattolica stopped sending these
messages because it ran out of translated Romero quotes in Italian.
From this moment on, we will send our own messages, beginning with
those the Moderator considers the top ten most important Romero
quotes.

Today's selection demonstrates why, apart from being considered a
martyr, Archbishop Romero is also considered a prophet. What makes
him stand out from other bishops is not just the way he died, but
also the brave and direct way in which he preached an strenuous
Christian praxis that was not watered-down or sugar-coated.

NOTA DEL MODERADOR: Desde el día de San Valentín, nuestro grupo ha
hecho cadena del mensaje de amor de Mons. Romero con el sitio de
Italia Cattolica que ha estado generando citas de Romero para enviar
a sus miembros. La semana pasada, Italia Cattolica dejó de enviar
estos mensajes ya que se le agotó su abastecimiento de citas en
italiano. Desde este momento nosotros enviaremos nuestros propios
mensajes, comenzando con los que el Moderador de este grupo considera
los diez más importantes.

La selección de hoy demuestra por que aparte de ser considerado un
mártir, Mons. Romero se considera tambien un profeta. Lo que lo hace
sobresalir de otros obispos no es solamente su muerte sino tambien su
prédica valiente y directa de una praxis cristiana "no descafeinada",
como dice Mons. Rosa Chávez.
