It is requested:
That colleagues manifest against these manipulations (letter of protest and a vote against such dealings) and that steps be taken to prevent the dishonest procedures of Diego Martinez, from the discussion site that he coordinates and from his web page. The only thing certain is that his dishonesty made it easy, working as a graphics designer with some materials in his computer that GIPRI had left for him to work on, to publish various "articles" that "appeared" to be his work and private practice.
It is suggested1. That you do not attempt to receive the free magazine.2. That those who have received the material (in .pdf format) and are in conditions to understand the situation and value the work of GIPRI, to take the following steps:-If sent to other countries: please make a Money Order or check in the amount of 10 dollars ($10.00) for credit to the account of Judith Trujillo:Washington Mutual Bank, FA No. 3874453174, and after making the deposit, senda copy of the deposit slip to: Judith Trujillo: Address: 78-67 Willow-Spring Dr., Apt. 821, Lake Worth, FL 33467, USA.3.-With the temptation to receive the work of GIPRI for free, it is possible that the finances of this organization will be seriously affected, since a large portion of its activities are financed by income from the sale of the magazine. Considering the circumstances, GIPRI publicly declares itself in crisis, and as such asks the international authorities, investigative groups, and all persons who work in rock art, to solidly form a front against the situation outlined above. It is very possible that future editions of the magazine may be suspended. In order to avoid this impasse, we ask for your financial assistance, which we feel will be our future. Finally, we lament that the community of rock art investigators has been exposed to this type of irrational comportment by unscrupulous persons who make more difficult the labor that we have been working on since 1970 in a country like Colombia!!! We also lament the situation of some colleagues whose good faith has been taken advantage of.Guillermo MuñozDirector GIPRIMember IFRAO ICOMOS CAR Signed byGIPRI Members Judith Trujillo; Carlos Rodríguez, Harry Marriner, Janeth Gonzalez, Fernando Urbina, Lorena RodríguezInvestigative Assistants Natalia Muñoz, Miguel Ángel Albadan, Oscar Gonzalez, Camilo Gutierrez, William MoraWe hope to overcome this situation!!!We congratulate the colleagues who have received the magazine and await your constructive comments that will improve our publication.
