Global Rock Art

se realizará del 29 de Junio al 3 de Julio en el Parque Nacional Serra da Capivara, San Raimundo Nonato, Piauí, Brasil.

Global Rock Art reunirá investigadores, estudiantes y otros interesados en el estudio, conservación y divulgación de las manifestaciones rupestres, que presentarán sus trabajos e informaciones relacionadas con todos los continentes, mostrando así que el arte rupestre es    una manifestación cultural mundial.

Los nuevos métodos de investigación, de interpretación, los nuevos descubrimientos, el desarrollo científico relacionado con su estudio y la dinámica de la creación y difusión cultural podrán ser relacionados y comparados durante este encuentro.

El Congreso procurará demostrar que la globalización no es un fenómeno actual, ella comienza cuando el hombre parte de su cuna en África y comienza a propagarse por los continentes. El Congreso es mundial y tratará sobre una práctica global que, como todas las manifestaciones humanas, es la demostración de que el Homo sapiens lleva en su carga genética los modelos de respuestas a los problemas originados por el medio ambiente y los engendrados por su psiquis. Por esta razón el Congreso se llamará Global Rock Art.

Global Rock Art  will take place from June, 9  to  July, 3, 2009 at Serra da Capivara National Park, São Raimundo Nonato, Piauí, Brazil.

At Global Rock Art scientists, students and people interested in the research, conservation and promotion of rock manifestations will meet and present their papers and information from all continents thus showing that rock art is a worldwide cultural phenomenon.

Different methods of investigation, interpretation and new discoveries, scientific development and the dynamics of cultural creation and distribution can be related and compared at the meeting.

The congress will try to demonstrate that globalization is not a present-day occurrence, it started when man left his home in Africa and spread over all the continents. The congress is international and will show that Homo sapiens genetically carries a pattern of answers to problems created by the environment and by his Psyche. For this reason the congress is called Global Rock Art.

These trips to the National Park are optional and take place before and after the Congress.

June 27 and 28  and  july 4 and 5, 2009.

On these four days there will be the following trips:

Option 1  -  Area of the Desfiladeiro da Capivara    -    visit to the ceramics factory
Option 2  -  Visit to Serra Branca
Option 3  -  Visit to the region of Varedão (number of participants is limited)
Option 4  -  Hombu track and area of Pedra Furada
