Dear friends and compañeros:

We have initiated an international campaign to ensure that, now that
Pinochet has been stripped of his immunity by the Supreme Court,
Judge Juan Guzmán Tapia indicts the former Chilean dictator. As a
result of conversations with compañeros at the Association of
Relatives of the Disappeared in Chile and with lawyers involved in
this case, we have set the following objectives:



1. The launching of an international campaign that will allow men,
women, and organizations from around the world to add their support
to the demand for a trial of Pinochet for crimes committed by
Operation Condor. This will send a clear signal that international
public opinion is aware and vigilantly monitoring the actions leading
to justice or impunity that are being carried out in Chile, due to
the great transcendence that these actions could have for the defense
of human rights throughout the world, and particularly in Palestine,
Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, etc.

2. Raising funds that will be destined to financing the costs that
the legal process will require including paying for monitors-lawyers
who will follow the multiple cases, medical experts, documentation,
etc. We also hope to raise enough money to publish in Chile the
attached statement called: "Give Justice a Chance: A Trial for
Pinochet Now. We hope to publish this statement on a date very close
to Judge Guzmán's ruling.
