Antes de telgua existia Guatel y guatel te vendía las lineas, ahora guatel te las alquila pero todas las lineas que la gente habia comprado teoricamente siguen siendo propiedad de la persona que las habia adquirido pero poco a poco telgua a ido recuperando las lineas sin cuando uno hace un nuevo contrato para adquirir un nuevo servicio porque en el contrato escriben alguiler, entonces como aceptaste que es un alquiler ellos lo toman como una renuncia a tus derechos de propiedad. Te pongo un ejemplo nosotros teníamos una de las lineas mas antiguas de 5 digitos, al cambiar a 7 digitos nos habian agregado solo un 23, o sea dos sifras para llegar a 7, despues de la venta de guatel, telgua nos envió un papel para decir que ese número no correspondía a los numeros de la zona, entonces teníamos que cambiar de número por uno de la misma serie que nuestros vecinos y eso implicó un nuevo contrato ahora la linea ya no nos pertenece porque ya no es la misma, etc, etc.

I have never used debian before this (I use redhat, freebsd and solaris systems), it has been a learning experience (why does package management have to suck in all linux distros? ;-)).
