How do I pack a shoe box?
Anyone can help by filling an empty shoe box with a variety of gifts.
What if I cannot find a shoe box of the right size?
Try and get a medium-sized adult box as near as possible to 5" (13cm) tall x 12" (30cm) long x 7" (18cm) wide. Large boxes cause problems with transport, and it is unfair if one child has a bigger box than the others. This is why we ask for an average adult-sized shoe box. However, there is no problem with shoe boxes that are slightly above or below the guidelines. Please do not seal your shoe box; just put an elastic band around the box.
What if I cannot find any shoe boxes?
If you ask your local shoe shop in advance and tell them you will pick them up, they should save some boxes for you. Alternatively, any box of the right size may be used. Many fancy goods shops now sell good-quality boxes of the correct size for present-wrapping purposes.
