World Interact Week

World Interact Week 2002 was celebrated with a variety of service projects and activities that included:

The Interact Club of Maris Stella in South Africa initiated a project, "Around the World in Not Quite 80 Days," which involved sending an e-mail around the world and incorporated fundraising efforts that benefited a sister Interact club in Zimbabwe.

The Interact Club of Sek, Men. Keb. Convent in Malaysia collaborated with their sponsoring Rotary club to develop a mentoring program that provides assistance to their peers and reinforces the values of patience and respect for one another.

The Interact Club of Kegalle Vidyalaya in Sri Lanka organized a dramatic presentation describing the dangers of drug abuse and traveled to local schools raising community awareness of the issue.

The Interact Club of De La Salle Araneta in the Philippines arranged vitamin A distribution to local elementary schools with the assistance of the sponsoring Rotary club that donated the vitamins.

The Interact Club of Princeton in the USA is working in conjunction with the local Rotary club and community organizations on Project BluePack, which hopes to raise US$5,000 to purchase school supplies for children in Afghanistan.
