An invitation from Catherine Austin Fitts

Dear Friend of Solari:

We are all deeply affected by the devastating impact and aftermath of
Katrina, and beyond. Katrina is a reminder that we cannot afford to depend
on centralized systems. As we find creative ways to help the people who have
lost family, homes and businesses through this incredible disaster, it is
also helpful to begin lining up our own "lifeboats" in our own communities.
Here's what you can do right now to begin turning the negative to positive –
the goal is to take the steps you can/should take to be safe where you live,
in a way that makes the world more safe:

* Connect with family, friends and neighbors rather than watching corporate
TV

* Eat fresh food and detox our bodies so we have energy to do what we can

* Go local! -- strengthen our connections to trustworthy local businesses,
farmers, tradespeople and civic leaders -- buy local, invest local, think
local, work local if you possibly can; support organic and fair trade.

* Bank local! -- depositing our money in locally owned banks is the single
greatest step we can take to decentralize political and economic power,
while at the same time funding greater local self sufficiency, and further
strengthening the local connections and trust that make for reliable
communities.

* Think about who can you trust, who’s your affinity group, how your
affinity group can connect with others locally and regionally; begin
discussing what it might take to create greater individual, local and
regional self-sufficiency. Here are some resources to help you identify your
immediate opportunities:

Wonderful World from the Inside Out []

Featured Seminars: In the coming weeks we'll be featuring Solari audio
seminars that are particularly timely.

* To help as many people as we can switch to a local bank, we are offering
our seminar:

Would Jesus Bank (and other good folks too)? - Web/MP3 Version for just $10
(50% off our regular price of $20 for a limited time only; also available on
CD at regular price of $24.95 and scheduled for repeat broadcast tonight
Thursday Sep 22).

* We're also featuring
<http://votesolari.com/solari/home.php?cat=21>Going Local With Peak Oil with
special guest Michael Ruppert where we cover both the big picture and local
solutions (cost: Web/Mp3 Version $20; CD Version $24.95; next broadcast Sep
29). Lots more great audio seminars at

Please consider posting your feedback on the

Action Network forums about how we can support each other in our efforts in
building the joy and sanctuary of community. As our good friend Caroline
Casey reminds us, our circumstances are far too dire for the luxury of
realism.

In cahoots,

Catherine and the Solari Team
