California judge finds Gallo of Sonoma guilty of lawbreaking.

1. Please sign the Gallo petition today!


A judge with California's farm labor board ruled on Dec. 19 that Gallo of
Sonoma violated state law when it illegally tried to decertify, or get rid,
of the United Farm Workers in March 2003. Administrative Law Judge Nancy C.
Smith issued a decision concluding that Gallo of Somona unlawfully "
assisted, supported and encouraged" the drive to oust the UFW.

During that company-backed effort, Gallo family scion Matt Gallo told
workers the union opposed health benefits for the 75% of winery laborers
supplied by farm labor contractors while the company favored coverage--an
outright lie. Matt Gallo still refuses to agree to a UFW contract providing
basic health benefits to all his workers and their families.

Now that Judge Smith has ruled, send your message to Matt Gallo. Sign the
petition Gallo of Sonoma workers will present Matt Gallo after the holidays.
