Si te llamas a ti mismo discipulo de alguna persona, el único regalo verdadero que ellos pueden hacerte es enviarte lejos. Después de un tiempo surgirá un anhelo por regresar y caerás a los pies del maestro con gran humildad. De nuevo se te dirá, "Vete". Una y otra vez te irás y regresarás, y el anhelo crecerá tanto que se hará insoportable. Finalmente pasará algo que no te esperas. Se abrirá dentro de ti una puerta que no sabías que existía, pero que el maestro había visto desde hacía mucho tiempo. Es el anhelo lo que crea la apertura, no la satisfacción de hallar a otra persona que parece haber satisfecho su anhelo de Dios. Nunca se satisfará en tu interior hasta que te des cuenta de que Dios, o el maestro, nunca te han abandonado, no importa a dónde sea que te hayas ido.

If you call yourself a disciple of any person, the only real gift they can give you is to send you away. A longing will begin that after awhile will force you to return, and you fall at the master's feet with great humility. Again you are told, "Go away." Over and over you come and you go, and the longing increases till it is unbearable. Finally something happens that you did not expect. A door opens inside you that you didn't know existed, but which the master saw all along. It is the longing that creates the opening, not the satisfaction of finding another person who seems to have satisfied their longing for God. It will never be satisfied within you until you realize that God, or the master, have never left your side, no matter where you wandered off to.
