Subject: personality and fieldwork

Dear anthropologist,

I am a student of the 5th year of Cultural Studies and Anthropology at the
Faculty of Humanities, University of Primorska, Koper, Slovenia. I am
writing my final thesis, comparing two different approaches in doing
fieldwork in anthropology: 1. "classic" long-term fieldwork in a "remote"
society, staying there for a longer period, learning language, holistic view
... ("Malinowski way") vs. (post)modern filed work, "home" fieldwork,
multi-sites, short stays, ...
A part of my thesis includes a mutual interacting between fieldwork approach
method and personality of the fieldworker. I would like to find out if there
is any correlation between personal structure of anthropologist and his
preferred field method. Regarding this, I would kindly ask you to answer the
questions below and help me with BFQ analysis. It will only take you 10
minutes of your time. First two and last three questions are not
BFQ-related, but please do answer them as well, because they are needed for
personality-fieldwork correlation analysis. The questionnaire is anonymous.

Please reply directly to my address (miha.jesensek@...), preferably in
plain text email (you can just click reply to this email and then insert
your answers directly into the mailtext).

I will post the final results to the group anthro-l (google it if you want
to subscribe), so we can discuss them if there will be some interest in
that.

Thank you for your time and help,
Miha Jesensek
