Dear Miguel Leopoldo,
As this year's seal slaughter draws to a close, our efforts to end the massacre forever are only just beginning. We have just launched a new interactive Web site, OlympicShame2010.com,
which is a spoof of the Vancouver Olympic mascot's site, to intensify
global pressure on the Canadian government to end the bloody seal
slaughter once and for all.
Meet the "evil" Vancouver Olympic mascots.
 |
We ask that you visit the site and take at least one action against the slaughter now. OlympicShame2010.com
has a variety of options to choose from: You can send anti-seal
slaughter e-cards to friends, send automated e-mails to government and
Olympic officials, pledge to join our international boycott of Canada's
most iconic product (maple syrup), post Olympic Shame demo photos, download Web banners and MySpace page layouts, order free stickers,
purchase campaign materials (including t-shirts, plush baby seal
embroidered with the message "Hugs, Not Clubs"), and much more!
As long the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee and the Canadian
government continue to hear from concerned people like you, they cannot
continue to ignore the international outcry against the seal slaughter.
The U.S. and the E.U. have banned seal fur, and world leaders have
spoken out against it. Now, it's Canada's turn.
Stay tuned for more campaign updates. And thank you for all that you've done to help animals!
Very truly yours,
Ingrid E. Newkirk President
