Our first e-newsletter for alumni
We are proud to launch this first UNESCO-IHE alumni e-newsletter. This e-newsletter, which will be sent on a regular basis, will help you keep in touch with the Institute through short news items relevant to alumni, often linked to longer articles online.
You will receive information on the Institute’s recent activities, research opportunities, alumni meetings, educational opportunities and news from alumni in the field. Reactions, suggestions and comments are also welcome; do not hesitate to contact me by email through alumni@...
Invitation to post news and events
The e-newsletter, as well as the alumni portion of UNESCO-IHE’s website, provides means by which alumni can share news with each other. If you have information that you would like to share with others, such as your personal experiences in the field, best practices, interesting events, newsworthy items, submit it for publication - either in the next issue of the e-newsletter or on the alumni website - by emailing to alumni@... with ‘e-news’ in the subject line.
Hoping you enjoy our first edition!

Words of the rector
Great! Simply great! The publication of this first Alumni E-News has long been a goal of the Institute.
UNESCO-IHE has been built on the concept that we are all part of a family of scientists, engineers, planners and managers dedicated to improving the possibilities for societies. The more active the interaction among professionals is, the greater the chance to increase the impact of our actions. The Institute’s e-newsletter aims to strengthen the existing bonds and to enhance opportunities for all.
I would like to remind all involved (authors and readers alike) that a publication of this nature is only as good as the inputs received. Therefore, while it is obvious that this is your newsletter, you too have the responsibility to make it work; to contribute your own articles, and make it become an important source of information and means of exchange of ideas for all those who have passed through our halls – whether for a PhD, an MSc or as an MEng participant.
With this goal in mind and with the tremendous experience represented by our nearly 14,000 alumni, there is little doubt that this E-outlet will succeed. I promise to add my own voice to those of our alumni as we put into practice new technologies to better serve all related to our Institute.
Professor Richard A. Meganck, PhD Rector
